Instructions

  1. Disconnect the RCA Cable from the harp RCA socket and remove the knobs from the potentiometers. Keep them somewhere safe.
  2. Unscrew the name rail from the cheek blocks at either side and remove from the piano.
  3. Clip or desolder all wires from one or both potentiometers depending on what is being replaced. (Hint: photo the layout before to make installing of new ones much simpler)
  4. Using a 1/2" nut driver or wrench remove the pots you are replacing from the name rail.
  5. Insert the new pots in and tighten. If installing the bass boost pot make sure the capacitor is on the correct lugs (see diagrams below).
  6. Solder the disconnected cables to the new potentiometers. Refer to the photo you took and use the diagrams below to ensure accurate wiring.
  7. Put the knobs back on the shaft of the pots. Make sure that they line up correctly on the name rail. The min level should be pointing bottom left, and the max level pointing bottom right. Readjust the pots angle in the namerail if needed.
  8. Put the name rail back in place, screw it down, and connect the RCA cable to the harp.
  9. Enjoy your new clean pots!
